2.3.10 & PlayStation 4
This Tuesday, June 27, the Update 2.3.10 will be available for PC and Xbox One. It is also the release of Elite: Dangerous on PlayStation 4!
The update brings many improvements in stability, networking, bug fixes and more, as well as improved security in Multicrew in order to refrain the trolls from ruining the sessions. From now on, pilots may choose to restrict the options used by their teammates. This will avoid the use of too many Shield Banks, launching all countermeasures, attacking targets without the pilot’s approval, or launching the Fighters randomly. For my part having tested this Update, I indeed found that more players could fit into the instances without that disturbing the network for the other players. Luck, coincidence, I hope it’s an enhancement 🙂
New players will rush for the Elite adventure on PS4. Many Sidewinders will appear on the beginner systems like Eravate and I invite the whole community to support this batch of players by helping them to understand this complex simulation game. Which ships to choose? How do I earn my credits? What are the superpowers? Why ? How? What to do? All these questions will be answered by the most veteran players on various platforms.
Remlok Industries aims to support the Elite: Dangerous communities, so here are a few links to get you started.
- FAQ PlayStation 4, your main questions on ED, answered;
- Remlok-Industries.fr/en : Many guides, detailed topics and news are available;
- We set up a Discord Remlok Industries, so you can discuss and ask for help. A Twitter @RemlokEN is available as well;
- E:D Board is our main Toolbox, made by Biobob, one of our partners;
- The official forums could help you communicate with the other players. If you need help let me know, I’m an international moderator (Volunteer) for Frontier;
- Galnet News EN, if you like the Lore, the official stories and news. Maintained by the community, and Aymerix;
- Mind the « Toolbox » dropdown options in our menu, to the right;
Some tips:
- Tutorial missions are here for a good reason. Try a bit of everything to get used to the game and not crash your first Sidewinder once launched;
- Spend some time in key binding. Try to remember a maximum of binds, all the options could prove useful at some point into the game, it would be stupid not to know how to turn on the lights, change the radar sensitivity or even deploy the weapons or the landing gear;
- Always fly with enough credits to rebuy your ship. If it comes to be destroyed, you will have to rebuy it. Even if your insurance helps greatly, if you do not have enough to rebuy your ship you will lose it and you will end up in a Sidewinder again.
- The Open World game mode allows you to meet other commanders! There are trolls in all games, do not be afraid of this mode and meet with many excellent pilots. You might see « o7 » quite often, it’s a salute.
- Many careers and gameplay are available in-game, start with various missions in order to test a bit of everything before you decide on an appropriategame style!
- Keep an eye on your fuel gauge at the bottom right corner. If it comes to zero, you are good for self-destruction… or call the Fuel Rats. If you have a fuel scoop, only a few stars can help: ABFOGKM, Always Be Fueling Or Gonna Kill Myself;
- In supercruise, when approaching a location, do not exceed 75% of speed once you have reached 6s from your target;
- Two navigation modes via the galaxy map: Economy, Fast. By default, the Economy mode is activated. change it for Fast, but watch out for your fuel consumption;
- Do not equip any weapons and modules qualities. Kinetic weapons are better against hulls, energy weapons against shields, explosive weapons against external modules and hybrid weapons against internal modules (mainly). The A modules are the most powerful and expensive but not necessarily the best for your ship. If you are explorer, a D module is the lightest and allows you to jump farther. The C modules have the best ratio price/performance ratio and the B’s are powerful but consume a lot of energy, they are the least used.

See you soon pilots, « Fly Safe o7 »!
Developers and Community
A dedicated space to Devs’ messages from the forums and social Medias.
- [Dev] Michael worked on Elite for 14 years, producing numerous projects for Frontier since the Kickstarter was launched. He is now going to move entirely on the new secret project that was announced a few months ago, a game based on a universe of world renown (Harry Potter please :p). He says Elite’s future will not be impacted, many teams are working on ED and new roles are filling his departure. Thank you for your work! o7 – Source – Michael Brookes, Executive Producer
- [Cheating] Ah! Many cheaters had their fraudulent engineers mods removed , this cheat was possible because of an exploit that was fixed at the beginning of the month. Frontier hit hard to prevent possible future cheats. Although the action is debatable because other « cheats » have been in-game for a while, this punching operation should discourage possible future exploiters and show that Frontier can make sharp decisions to balance the problems. Many remote explorers and PvP fighters have shown their dissatisfaction, but heh, lesson learned. – Source – Frontier Support
- [Minor Factions] Engineering team has checked in another update to the sheet this morning. Little past the halfway mark now. I should have an updated list quite soon on rejections / declined minor faction applications. – Source – Brett Cooper, Community Manager

Aliens Researches (Thargoids & Guardians)
While the history is again to a standstill after the recent revelation of the Thargoids Return, here we are, slightly pushed forward thanks to CMDR Synjorai and his discovery about Professor Melville! I sometimes quote him and his hate of Ram Tah – this mad scientist had left the inhabited bubble with the help of assistants in order to discover the world of the Guardians, but no news came back to us.
A new Megaship named The Cete would belong to the latter on the Col 173 Sector LJ-F C12-0 system. Five Guardians’ ruins were also found as I write this article, making it the most important Guardians system. The three ruins configurations are in the system.
Melville became more and more mad and mistreated his crew. The latter then rebelled after the professor killed an innocent scientist aboard the ship. Most of them fled, but the message of the person who wrote these logs abruptly stops: « The only way to leave this ship is… ».
Why this sudden interruption? Is Melville still alive or dead in the lab? Why does this Megaship appear to be « two » megaships paired one over the other?

◘ June 19 – The leaders of the galaxy’s major powers have responded to news that the mysterious ships seen in the Maia system and Pleiades Nebula are Thargoid vessels.
Federal President Zachary Hudson released a characteristically forthright statement.
“Earlier this year, I said I would rather prepare for an attack that may not come than be met by an attack I did not prepare for. Well, the Federation has not been idle. For months, we have been expanding our Navy in preparation for just such a day. Some, such as Edmund Mahon, believe this is unnecessary. But perhaps Mr Mahon has not read the reports of Federal ships being attacked by Thargoid vessels. If the Thargoids want a fight, it’s a fight they’ll get.”
Addressing the media from the Imperial Palace on Capitol, Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval said:
“The facts are these: the Thargoids have highly sophisticated starships, they have a relationship with the organic constructs, and they have the means to remotely disable human spacecraft. In some quarters, these facts have given rise to concern. But I urge you not to panic. The human race has surmounted countless challenges in the past, and created a civilisation that spans hundreds of star systems. Do not be too quick to discount the human race.”
Finally, Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon released the following statement:
“Our next steps must be taken with great care. Despite President Hudson’s claims to the contrary, there is no proof that the Thargoids have attacked Federal vessels. We must not assume the Thargoids are hostile. Theirs is clearly an intelligent and technologically sophisticated race. There is a great deal we could learn from them.”
◘ June 22 – Last week, the Empire and the Federation launched initiatives designed to bolster their presences in the Pleiades star cluster. Both superpowers placed open orders for construction materials for use in their respective campaigns, and the response from the galactic community was overwhelmingly positive. Huge quantities of material were delivered to Obsidian Orbital for both the Federal campaign and the Imperial initiative. It seems that despite widespread opposition to the Federal-Imperial conflict, both superpowers still enjoy considerable support among the galactic community.
◘ June 22 – As the Colonia community continues to grow, the Junkyard Dogs have placed an open order for various commodities to support another wave of expansion. A spokesperson for the organisation confirmed the materials would be used to construct new outposts in the region. The amount of materials received will determine exactly how many outposts are built. The Junkyard Dogs have promised to reward pilots who deliver tantalum, power generators and silver to their base of operations at Tolagarf’s Junkyard.
The latest census data from Colonia indicates that the system has seen a massive influx of immigrants in recent weeks. Although precise details have not been made public, it is understood that many of the region’s new citizens are from the core systems. The spike follows the introduction of a migration subsidy from the Colonia Council, which has made it much cheaper for potential immigrants to reach Colonia. Sources close to the Council have confirmed that the move was designed to stimulate economic growth by attracting skilled workers to the region. The Colonia colony was founded almost a year ago, and since then it has expanded rapidly. For some, it represents an alternative to the violence and political disharmony they believe has come to characterise life in the core systems. Social and political experts have predicted that as long as the Federal-Imperial conflict persists, the Colonia community will continue to grow.
◘ June 22 – Celebrated chef and culinary scholar Dr Cordelius Swainn has issued an appeal to the galactic community for rare goods for one of his famous celebrity soirees. In a statement, Swainn said:
“I create unique dining experiences for the wealthiest patrons and most important dignitaries to visit the Lave system. I will be hosting another of these events in a few weeks for one of my most important clients, and am therefore seeking rare commodities from across the galaxy. But it is not only food I require – I am in need of a wealth of exotic goods, all of which will contribute to overall ambience.”
The appeal is being financed by Dr Swainn’s corporate partner, Lave Incorporated, which has promised to reward pilots who deliver the requested commodities to Lave Station.
